Chelo worked in a bar as a cigarette girl
to support her sisters, although they didn't know it(they thought she was a
nurse). She is a decent woman who doesn't party with customers. Paco starts
harrassing her and a brawl breaks out during which he breaks a bottle on her
head. To be spiteful Paco files a complaint against Chelo.
Elena has been working as a tutor/nanny to
Juanito since graduating school. She and Juan Alberto have fallen in love. When
Chelo's problem occurs, Adolfo takes over the case to prove her innocence and
as the story goes it was love at first sight. She is found innocent by JA due
to Adolfo's testimony and the lack of credibility of the witnesses.
Juan Alberto and Elena had a fight over
Chelo's occupation. He thought she hid the fact that she worked in the bar
(apparently a major crime for him) Elena gets mad at him and quits. A couple of
days later Juanito is hit by a car and Elena goes to his side. So JA and Elena
get back together, but JA doesn't give Chelo any special treatment in court.
Once she's found innocent everything gets back on track romantically speaking
until Ernesto's death.
After her trial Adolfo courts Chelo and
fairly quickly they declare their love for each other but Chelo will not marry
until Elena does. But as we know Elena went to prison, etc. Now Adolfo and
Chelo are finally getting married.
