Angelica Rivera Hurtado was born August the 2nd 1970 in Mexico City. She was the only one from eight brothers who wanted to be an artist. When she \vas 4 years old she started learning Ballet, something she requested, this type of art requires a lot of effort and discipline, so she studied ballet until she was 12 when she was forced to abandon1 because she was having trouble with regular school. She was always involved in everything that had to do with performing. She performed in all the small plays at school and she used to sing in front of the mirror with a hairbrush in her hand. Her grandmother, Guadalupe, wanted to be an artist in the 194G's, and when she received the news that Angelica wanted to become an actress she said: It was a surprise because I thought she would get married; but it was like making my dreams come true in her. About this her mother Mrs. Maria Eugenia says: I liked more architecture or decoration, but when Angelica told me she wanted to become an actress I gave her all my support. Her parents are divorced, since the divorce her mother took care of education, "we have good communication with our father", my parents never got along veiy well but she-never said anything bad about my father. l Fortunately respect among them gave us the opportunity to understand that they don't love each other; it was a wise decision and we were not affected by their divorce, Angelica says, who also remarks " but we never missed the parental figure because we have our father and thank God wre also have our Grandpa Mario. As we were saying from eight brothers Angelica is the only one who became an actress although her sisters Adriana and Elisa have worked as models.
But all the others have nothing to do with the media, except Caro, who is her manager, the two sisters get along very well and support each other they work very well as a team and both leave home when dealing with contracts for movies, soap operas or any other-business etc.
During the filming of a Veronica Castro's video Angelica was behind a line just like any-other person just watching, Veronica asked her to come closer and told her that she was ^ a very beautiful girl and suggested her to enter a contest named "El Rostro de El Heraldo (The face of Helerado, an important newspaper in Mexico). Angelica herself declares Veronica Castro is like my godmother, maybe if I had not gone to see the filming of that video, who knows wrhat could have happened, while she prepared for the contest she worked to get the money to buy clothes, so that it would not be an obstacle since all the other competitors were very well dressed. But no matter what, the 6th of
march 1987, she won the contest.
After that she received tons of contracts for modeling, for jeans advertisements, potato
chips, yogurts, magazines, and soft drinks, that made them famous in Japan, United
States and of course in Mexico.
Then She entered the Aits Education center of Televisa working hard in singing, dancing
and acting. Her mother had to take her in a taxi and sometimes she didn't even had
time to eat, from there she started in a video with Luis Miguel for the song "Ahora te
puedes marchar* (Now you can leave). And after several castings she became an
announcer for the music video program "tele Hit" along with other girl named Martha
Aguayo.
To be honest she said: I once felt I was a superstar, people would recognize me on the
street and I felt I was walking in the clouds; Fortunately I have a very well centered
family, and they brought me back to earth, and the good part was that it happened only
at the beginning and I could change my attitude on time.
Her start in telenovelas was a small great opportunity in the soap opera "Dulce Desaflo*
produced by Julisa in 1989/ My life changed in the way that you stop visiting friends
but if you organize well you have time for everything, even for love*. What I do is
separate my work from my family, from my boyfriend and friends. When she is in
Televisa I stop being Angelica and become the character Гт performing for the story.
By that time she was in a relation with Hector Suarez Gomiz. For me he is simply perfect, I have a special feeling for him because he is very tender, he always had a detail for me and hard worker, and he would always do everything for her, in those days they even had plans to get married, they both like kids and the relationship was growing.
Angelica also participated in "Simplemente Maria" along with Victoria Ruffo where she
started calling the attention of other produces due to her good work.
I used to stay from 8 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. doing around 30 or 40 scenes daily once I
had to cry from 8 am until 10 p.m. and that made mo lose a lot of weight. But I can only
say that this is a great career.
Later on she got an important role in the soap opera " Mi pquena Soledad"
Where her image grew and the public started talking about her. After two years of she
and Hector finished their relationship, although they remained as good friends. I
consider my elf as very loyal with my couple. Гт in no hurry, the man of my life will
come tomorrow or in six moths or a year, but Гт not looking for him.
Her effort and dedication took her to \vork with Luis de Llano for the soup opera
"Alcanzar una estrella 1Г wTere she characterizes Silvana, for the first time, she performs
a character who has nothing to do with her real personality: a Villain * it is a very nice
role, since it is a challenge for me after working as a good girl in my previous work, now
I am a careless person, despot,
and interested in money, it is something new for me", working with actors like Jose
Aloiiso, Silvia Pasquel, Luis Jimeno, Otto Sirgo, Eduardo Palomo, etc.
That's how we could see her starting as a singer and as part of the group "Munecos de
РареГ (paper dolls) next to singers very well known today like: Ricky Martin, Sasha,
Pedro Fernandez, etc., but this was not a shadow for her, she showed a lot of professionalism and that's when she really was wrell recognized and gained the respect of the public. ; к ^
La picara sonadora.
After "Alcanzar una estrella* still in 1991, Valentin Pimstein called to play the role of Giovanna (another villain), with Eduardo Palomo in "La picara sonadora* in a roll that was very important for her career, where she demonstrated that she can play all kind of roles. For that role she won a price from the magazine ERES in 1991 as best co-actress. Also the group "Munecos de РареГ won as best new group that year. j ; After finishing her relationship with Hector, she knew who now is the father of her kids and today husband for more tan 8 years: Jose Alberto Castro: Is he the man of my life? Yes he is, that is something you feel in your heart. I spent a year without a boyfriend just having fun and getting to know people and suddenly — ? I fell in love. ,,... ; , •
He is the ideal man, although the only thing I don't like about him is that he sometimes
is a little temper. He gets along very well with my family they all
Get along with him very well.

During the filming of "sueno de amor" he would sometimes stop by the set and say hello
ad I would also pay him some visits if I had some extra time, we both would always be
very busy and worst when we had to go to different locations.
By 1993, Jose Rendon called her for her first main performance having the main role of
"Isabel* in "sueno de amor* where you could see at the beginning of the soap opera
Angelica dancing Ballet, a few people thought that it was someone else and could not
believe that it was Angelica really dancing. Don't forget that Angelica was a ballerina as
a kid.
She wyorked with Omar Fierro, Fernando Lujan, Sergio Basanez, Tony Carbajal, etc.
People already with a lot experience, and the telenovela was a complete success.
"1 now laugh about how I once believed that I was a superstar, it is good that people
recognize your work, but my family helped me to put my feet on the ground, in this job
you will always find actresses that believe they are superstars just because they had an
opportunity, I have been a long time nowr on this career and still believe there is a lot
more to learn.
IVe been working hard and knocking doors every day, but I haven't had to pass over
someone to obtain a role, I would never do that, I f there w7ould be a time wrhen I would
not receive an offer to work then I would better retire before doing based things.
Later on 1994 she participated in a film produced by Rebecca Jones у Alejandro
Camacho, "Aqui espantan" (It's scary here) along with actors like Ernesto Laguardia у
Rafael Inclan. In this film we could appreciate an Angelica more mature and complete
with a contagious good humor.
Then we get to her best acting role a main actress in "La duena" in 1995, along with
Francisco Gathorno, Eduardo Santainaria, Cynthia Klitbo and other first line actors,
produced by Florinda Meza. More than one criticized her work and mentioned that it
had been a better choice someone like Aylyn Mujica and some other unfriendly rumors but Angelica demonstrated again her professionalism and at the end was a number one Telenovela in that time making Angelica a very well recognized actress, she recalls: " La Duena gave the opportunity to characterize a woman who is strong, fighter, good and sometimes even a villain, I have 9 years in this career and feel that this was a major step in my career. It has been a very important point in my career. Regina (her role) was a very difficult role to play but I think it was a good job. I still have a lot to learn and I don't think this will consecrate me as an actress, that will only happen when I die and people appreciate my job. v, л ^ ,ч, ; And around mid 1996, it was announced one of the most transcendent news of her life, she was about to become a Mother, and she had her first baby on October 30 1996, her name is Angelica Sofia, and although she is not married yet she wrould love to marry Jose Alberto, we now have a
stable relationship with regular problems as couple and I love him we have been working on the plans for the wedding but simply haven't had time. When I got pregnant we were about to get married, but I did not want to do it with my big stomach so he said we would get married when the baby was born, but then I started working on " Huracan* immediately after 40 days, and then right away in Angela, I want to see me in my wedding dress... you know like in Cinderella. I imagine myself very happy with my daughter holding my dress!!
By 1997 she started on a telenovela along with Eduardo Palomo, produced by Rebecca Jones у Alejandro Camacho, where at a certain point the role became less important and some confusion was created but of course it had nothing to do with her professional work, her work as main character in this telenovela, produced by Jose Alberto Castro^ remembers in a certain way the role of la Duena but in a different story since in this telenovela now Angela is looking for revenge, people liked the role as a strong, fighter and hard temper woman and the public liked it, nowadays we have more telenovelas with aggressive characters, and it is good because in life there are always good and bad~-I do not consider myself as completely good since I do have a more or less hard temper, but I'm not as bad as a stone, I mean I do have good feelings.
Angela Finished with some success and little is known today about Angelica Rivera. It was published that she would get married in May 1999 and that she was pregnant again. Now they both had time so they were planning on their marriage, by the end of 1999 it was heard that they would get married in year 2000 reason why she declined some offers. Work is the main obstacle for this couple to get married but their mutual love is the best witness that the plans are on their way meanwhile they share an healthy professional and sentimental life.
On November 11 1999 at 19:00 hrs. in Mexico city her second son was born, she did not know the sex of the baby until he was born, today Little Angelica Sofia has a little sister to play with, the new baby was born by Osection and everything went fine, The name is Fernanda, Now Angelica and Jose Alberto have announced that they will soon get married this year.
But... This is Angelica: Since I was a little girl I always dreamed of my prince and to have a main role, but I have no prejudices about love when it comes to your life there is no wray out of it. In regards of education I do believe I'm more careful, since I would never get involved with a alcoholic, or someone with bad habits or who would say bad words, that I would not accept since I am more used to good education and that I would not change. About finding love I think I have the same opportunities as anybody else but finding true love is something a little more difficult.
An advice I always give is riot search for love, better wait for it to arrive and once you have love always think that happiness and suffering should always be in balance since 1 think that always being happy with your couple would be boring. Sometimes fights are good, but don't get into too many.
Have I cried for love? Yes, many times, you cry for love deceptions, I think all the human beings have suffered deception or failure, when you are really in love and you are a noble woman, you give all your love and with all that they still fool you, it is normal to suffer and have doubts from everybody, and you start thinking if he is with someone else. I think that is something that happens to all women. Thanks to ray family I have always been able to overcome this situations.
I would never foil under bad depression. At first I guess 1 would feel a lot of hate and rancor, but I think I would forgive him and would not fall into a vice or stay heart broken too long. When your illusions are broken and love fails everything changes. If someone lied to you it is very difficult to trust in him again. Me Angelica would never get involved with that person again. In this new generations we speak a lot about sexuality . Our parents have given us the freedom to chose and this is something that in the past was not allowed, talking about sex was a big myth and something very "bad", now our parents have talked about it as something normal. I don't think being a virgin makes a woman complete or incomplete, if you 11 have sexual relations, it is because you are just about to get married and you see that man as the father of your children. Temptations: when you are in love maybe the most wonderful man can be in front of you but you only have eyes for your loved ones, and you don't pay too much attention to anyone else because you are happy and you are not looking anyone else.
